Leah Hadley, host of Intentional Divorce Insights, shares our top divorce podcast episodes

Whether you are in the thick of it or just starting to find your footing on the other side, these episodes were made for you.

If you have been searching for honest, helpful guidance on divorce, the kind that does not sugarcoat the hard parts but also does not leave you drowning in them, you are in the right place.

Podcasts about divorce have become one of the most useful free resources available to women going through this. You can listen while you drive, while you fold laundry, while you sit in a parking lot before an attorney meeting trying to slow your heart rate down. There is no waiting room and no appointment. Just someone who has done this work talking directly to you.

This guide has two parts. First, ten episodes from my own show, Intentional Divorce Insights, that listeners keep sharing, re-listening to, and passing along to friends who are just beginning. Second, a short list of other divorce podcasts I recommend without hesitation, because no single show covers everything and the right one depends on where you are standing right now.

I am Leah Hadley, AFC, CDFA, MAFF™, and I have spent years sitting across from women working through divorce settlements. Everything below is filtered through that.

This list is one we update as new conversations resonate with our listeners. Bookmark it and check back.

The Best Divorce Podcast Episodes for Women

These ten episodes of Intentional Divorce Insights are the ones listeners come back to. Each one is grouped below by what it actually helps with, so you can start where you are instead of at episode one.

Divorce Podcast Episodes About Money, Settlements, and Financial Recovery

This is the part of divorce where the decisions are hardest to reverse. These three episodes are the ones I would want every woman to hear before she signs anything.

1. The #1 Money Regret I Hear From Divorced Women

After years of working with women through divorce as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, I have seen the same painful financial mistake come up again and again. I share it in this episode, not to create fear, but because I believe if you know what to watch out for, you can make decisions you will feel good about long after the paperwork is signed.

This is one of the most practical, important episodes I have recorded. I would encourage every woman navigating a divorce settlement to listen before finalizing anything.

Listen if: You are in the middle of settlement negotiations or making decisions about assets like the family home, retirement accounts, or alimony.

2. Saving vs. Investing After Divorce: Where to Start with Your Money

Once the dust settles, one of the most common questions I hear is: What do I do with my money now? This episode breaks it down in a clear, approachable way, with no jargon and no overwhelm.

I walk through how to think about building an emergency fund, when to start investing, and how to prioritize when resources feel stretched. Getting this foundation right makes everything else easier.

Listen if: You are newly single and trying to figure out your financial footing, or you have received a settlement and do not know what to do next.

3. Double the Insight: Divorce Financial Planners Tackle Tough Questions

Two divorce financial planners. Real questions from real people navigating divorce. Honest, practical answers.

This episode is a fan favorite because it covers a wide range of the financial questions that come up most often, from how to handle debt, to what "equitable distribution" actually means, to how to think about long-term financial security. If you have been sitting on a question you are not sure who to ask, there is a good chance it gets answered here.

Listen if: You want clear financial guidance on some of the most common and confusing divorce money questions.

Best Divorce Podcasts for Women Who Need Emotional Support and Healing

Divorce recovery podcasts get a lot of search traffic for a reason. The financial and legal pieces have deadlines. The emotional piece does not, which is exactly why it gets postponed. These two episodes are about that part.

4. Somatic Healing for Emotional Recovery After Divorce

Divorce does not just live in your head. It lives in your body. Stress and grief have a way of settling into us physically, and sometimes the most important healing work is not cognitive at all.

This episode explores somatic healing: what it is, how it works, and why it can be such a powerful tool for emotional recovery after divorce. If you have tried to "think your way through" the grief and it has not been enough, this conversation may open a new door for you.

Listen if: You are feeling stuck emotionally, physically exhausted, or like the stress of divorce has taken a real toll on your body.

5. Life After Divorce: How to Go From Surviving to Thriving

At some point, you stop just trying to get through each day and start asking a bigger question: What does my life actually look like now?

This episode is for that moment. I talk about what it takes to move from survival mode into a life that feels full, intentional, and genuinely yours. It is one of the most hopeful conversations on the podcast, and a reminder that what is waiting on the other side of divorce can be beautiful.

Listen if: You are starting to come out of the fog and are ready to think about what rebuilding and thriving actually looks like.

When there are children involved, or an ex who makes every step harder, the standard advice stops being enough. These two episodes are for those situations.

6. Divorcing a Narcissist: Surviving the Storm and Reclaiming Your Power

Divorcing someone with narcissistic traits is a different kind of hard. The manipulation, the gaslighting, the way the process seems to drag on forever. It wears you down in ways that are difficult to explain to people who have not lived it.

This episode gives language to what you might be experiencing and, more importantly, offers a path forward. If you have ever wondered why you feel so exhausted or why the legal process feels like a battlefield, this one will help you feel less alone and more prepared.

Listen if: You are in a high-conflict divorce, dealing with a difficult or manipulative ex, or feel like you are constantly walking on eggshells.

7. How to Talk to Adult Children About Divorce

There is a common misconception that adult children handle their parents' divorce more easily than young kids. In my experience, that is often not true, and the conversation still requires just as much care and intentionality.

This episode walks through how to approach these conversations with honesty and compassion, how to avoid putting your children in the middle, and how to navigate the complicated emotions that come up on both sides. If you are co-parenting younger children instead, our guide to co-parenting success covers the day to day mechanics.

Listen if: You have adult children and are struggling with how to talk to them about your divorce, or you are experiencing tension in those relationships as a result of the process.

Podcast Episodes for Deciding What Comes Next

Not everyone listening has decided anything yet. These three episodes are about the choosing itself, and about how you carry yourself through whatever you choose.

8. Deciding to Stay or Go: The Role of Discernment Counseling in Divorce

Not everyone who finds this podcast has already decided to divorce. Some of you are still in that painful in-between, unsure, scared, trying to figure out if your marriage can be saved or if it is time to move forward.

This episode introduces discernment counseling: a specific, thoughtful process designed for couples where one person is leaning out and the other wants to try. It is not marriage counseling. It is a way to get clear, whichever direction that takes you.

Listen if: You are not sure whether to stay or go, or you are early in the process of figuring that out.

9. The 5 Biggest Mistakes People Make During Divorce

I created this episode because I kept seeing the same costly, heartbreaking mistakes, financial, legal, and emotional, derail people during divorce. Not because they were not smart or capable, but because no one had told them what to watch out for.

Consider this your advance briefing. These five mistakes span everything from how you handle the legal process to the financial decisions you make under pressure. Knowing them now could save you significant pain and money later.

Listen if: You are at the beginning of the divorce process, or you want a gut-check to make sure you are not missing something important.

10. Divorce with Intention: How to Show Up and Who to Be During the Journey

How you go through a divorce matters, not just for the outcome, but for who you become on the other side of it.

This is the heart of what I believe about divorce: that even in an incredibly difficult process, you have agency. You get to decide how you show up, what you prioritize, and what kind of person you want to be throughout all of it. This episode explores what intentional divorce actually looks like in practice. If you want structured support putting that intention into practice, this is exactly the kind of work a divorce coach can help with.

Listen if: You want to navigate your divorce with integrity, clarity, and a sense of purpose, even when it is hard.

Other Podcasts About Divorce Worth Your Time

My show is not the only one, and I would rather point you somewhere useful than pretend otherwise. These are the divorce podcasts I recommend most often, and I have been a guest on several of them.

Doing Divorce Different, with Lesa Koski

Lesa is a family law attorney turned mediator and coach, and her whole orientation is toward keeping people out of court and out of the worst version of this process. She publishes consistently and covers both the practical and the emotional. If divorce mediation is on your mind, this is the show to start with.

The Moving On Method, with Michelle Dempsey-Multack

Formerly Moms Moving On, this is the strongest co-parenting podcast I know of for divorced mothers. Michelle is a Certified Divorce Specialist and the episodes are candid about how hard shared custody can be, without the guilt.

The D Shift, with Mardi Winder-Adams

Mardi is a strategic divorce consultant and high-conflict divorce coach with decades of mediation experience. This is the one I recommend when someone is dealing with an ex who makes every handoff and every email a problem.

Wealthy After Divorce, with Melissa Fradenburg and Melissa Joy

Two Certified Divorce Financial Analysts working through the financial side of divorce and what comes after. If you want a second financial voice alongside mine, this is it. Hearing the same principles explained a different way is often what makes them click.

Off the Fence, with Karen Covy

Karen is a Chicago divorce coach, lawyer, and mediator with more than 30 years of experience, and her show is built around the decisions that keep people stuck, from whether to stay or go to what to do about money and career once the marriage is ending. She releases a new episode every week and has more than 200 in the archive, so it is one of the most active divorce podcasts out there right now. I was a guest and we talked about a cost most people do not see coming, in The Hidden Health Insurance Trap That Can Make Divorce Unaffordable. It covers how recent federal changes can raise healthcare costs for people who are divorcing and why that belongs in your settlement math.

The Divorce and Beyond Podcast, with Susan Guthrie

Susan is a family law attorney and mediator with roughly 35 years of experience, and the back catalog here is deep and wide. Good for browsing by topic when you have a specific question.

I have also been a guest on many other shows over the years, covering financial abuse, financial confidence, and rebuilding after divorce. You can find those conversations on our page of podcast interviews with Leah Hadley.

How to Choose the Right Divorce Podcast for Where You Are

The best podcast about divorce is the one that matches your stage, not the one with the most downloads. A few ways to narrow it down:

  • Still deciding. Look for shows that address ambivalence rather than assuming you have already filed. Episode 8 above is a good entry point, and Off the Fence with Karen Covy is built around exactly that.
  • In the legal process. Prioritize hosts who are attorneys or mediators, and prioritize episodes about your specific issue rather than divorce in general.
  • Negotiating a settlement. This is where divorce financial planning podcasts earn their keep. The decisions you make here are the hardest to undo.
  • Newly divorced. Divorce recovery podcasts and co-parenting shows will serve you better than legal content at this point.
  • Rebuilding. Shift toward money and identity, not process. The question changes from how do I get through this to what do I want now.

One caution. Podcasts are education, not advice. They cannot see your balance sheet, your parenting plan, or the laws of your state. Use them to get oriented and to figure out what questions to ask, then bring those questions to someone who can look at your actual numbers.

Frequently asked questions about divorce podcasts, Intentional Divorce Solutions

Frequently Asked Questions About Divorce Podcasts

What is the best podcast about divorce for women? There is no single best divorce podcast, because the right one depends on your stage. If your immediate concern is the settlement and the money, choose a show hosted by a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, such as Intentional Divorce Insights or Wealthy After Divorce. If you are co-parenting, The Moving On Method is a better fit. If you are dealing with a high-conflict ex, The D Shift is built for that. Start with the issue keeping you up at night rather than the show with the largest audience.

Are there podcasts focused on divorce financial planning? Yes. Intentional Divorce Insights focuses on the financial side of divorce for women, including settlement decisions, retirement accounts, and rebuilding afterward. Wealthy After Divorce, hosted by two Certified Divorce Financial Analysts, covers similar ground. Financial podcasts are education rather than personal advice, so use them to identify the questions to bring to a divorce financial professional who can review your actual numbers.

Where can I find support for co-parenting after divorce? The Moving On Method with Michelle Dempsey-Multack is dedicated to divorce and co-parenting for mothers. For high-conflict co-parenting specifically, The D Shift addresses communication with a difficult ex. Divorce coaching is another option when you want structured, personalized support rather than general guidance.

What financial mistakes should I avoid during divorce? The most common and costly mistakes include giving up future income for short-term assets, such as fighting for the house when you cannot afford to keep it, failing to account for taxes on retirement accounts, and not having your own credit established. Episodes 1 and 9 above go deep on this.

How do I start rebuilding financially after divorce? Start with the basics: an emergency fund of three to six months of expenses, then build from there. Episode 2 walks through exactly how to prioritize saving vs. investing when you are starting over.

Is somatic healing effective for divorce recovery? Somatic healing, which works with the body's physical responses to stress and trauma, can be a powerful complement to therapy and other emotional support. Episode 4 covers how it works and why it is worth exploring.

What is discernment counseling and how is it different from couples therapy? Discernment counseling is a short-term process specifically for couples where divorce is on the table. Unlike traditional marriage counseling, the goal is not necessarily to repair the relationship. It is to help both people get clarity about the right next step. Episode 8 explains this in detail. If you have already decided to divorce and want to keep the process out of court, divorce mediation is often the next right step.

How do you talk to adult children about divorce? With honesty, care, and clear boundaries around not putting them in the middle. Episode 7 covers the specific conversations, common pitfalls, and how to protect your relationship with your kids through the process.
